New Compact NARVA Driving Lamp Big On Performance
If you’re looking for a compact, yet very powerful, driving lamp for your car, SUV, 4WD or truck, NARVA’s new Ultima, 180 L.E.D model could be just the answer.
The Ultima 180 joins the high-powered Ultima 215 L.E.D model recently released in New Zealand and has proven to be very popular.
This latest offering from NARVA – a leading supplier of automotive lighting across Australasia – provides similar light output to the 215 but in a more compact 180mm diameter package.
“The trend in recent years has been towards more compact driving lamps to go with modern vehicle styling, but drivers still want top performance, and the new Ultima 180 delivers on both points,” says Tim Paterson, National Sales Manager for Griffiths Equipment Ltd.
The new Ultima 180 lamps feature a hybrid beam pattern that makes them ideal for demanding off-road driving and on-road transport applications because they produce a white light output (5,700°K) that closely resembles natural light, thereby minimising night-time fatigue behind the wheel.
As well as the high light quality, these lamps are extremely powerful, producing 22,000 raw lumens, capable of shining a penetrating light down the road or a bush track up to 600 metres at 1 Lux (as a pair).
Each lamp is equipped with 25 x 5W (165W) XP-G2 Cree L.E.Ds and feature highly polished, aluminium, metalised reflectors with precisely scalloped parabolas for superior control and performance. Other benefits of the new lamps include an L.E.D front position light to improve driving visibility in poor daylight conditions, for improved safety.
Due to their more compact dimensions, the Ultima 180 lamps are suitable for fitment to a wider range of commercial vehicles, SUVs and four-wheel-drives, agricultural and construction equipment and even passenger cars with suitable mounting points.
For superior performance and durability, the new lamps feature a tough, die-cast aluminium housing and an ‘Active Thermal Management System’, which allow the lights to run harder for longer. The lights also incorporate a ‘Nitto’ breather vent and integrated DT connector, and are fully sealed
against water and dust ingress to IP66 and IP67 standards. The front of the lights also benefits from a virtually unbreakable polycarbonate lens and see-through lens protector.
The combination of these features provides the lights with an impressive operating range of between -40°C to 65°C and ensure they will perform reliably in the harshest conditions and applications.
This focus on performance and durability extends to the lights’ mounting system, which incorporates a pressure die-cast mounting bracket, three-bolt mounting with stainless steel hardware and a polymer rubber mounting and suspension set-up for resistance to corrugations and bumps.
For additional control and easy adjustment on the road, the lights also benefit from a tool-free vertical adjustment mechanism.
The NARVA Ultima 180 L.E.D driving lamps are simple to install, with everything required for fitment included in the kit, along with easy-to-read fitting instructions.
Also included in each kit are four interchangeable coloured trim pieces (blue, black, yellow and red), allowing buyers to customise or personalise the appearance of the light on their vehicle. A stainless-steel bezel comes standard with the lamps, but for those wanting to further develop an individual look, NARVA is offering two other bezels (gloss black or chrome-plated) as optional accessories.
Despite their high output, the 9-33V Ultima 180 L.E.Ds feature a modest current draw of only 8.9A at 12V, ensuring minimal strain on vehicle electrical systems.
For peace of mind, the Ultima 180 L.E.D lights are backed by NARVA’s 5-year L.E.D warranty and they are now available from leading automotive outlets nationwide.
