New Jelly Belly Fragrances To Freshen Car Interiors

A new way to keep cars, SUVs and commercial vehicles smelling fresh has been introduced to New Zealand.

The Jelly Belly bean air freshener range has now been supplemented with new gel cans that fit into the cup holders, giving off various fragrances based on the popular candy.

The Jelly Belly air freshener is going from strength-to-strength in New Zealand, according to Tim Paterson, National Sales Manager for Griffiths Equipment, which distributes Jelly Belly in-car air fresheners in New Zealand.

Originally introduced as bean-shaped 3D containers that could either be fitted to air vents or dangle from the dashboard or rear-view mirror, Jelly Belly air fresheners give out scent from the candy to fill the passenger cabin with a fresh, sweet fragrance and overcome musty smells and odours.

“They’re the world’s number one gourmet jelly bean and their flavours are instantly recognisable,” says Mr Paterson.

“The air freshener range has been consistently among our best-selling vehicle accessory lines in recent years, and we are keeping up the momentum with extensions to the range, such as the gel cans.”

The new gel cans are designed to comfortably sit in a standard-size cup holder anywhere in the cabin of a vehicle. There are four gel cans in the new range, each filled with a distinctive flavour contained within the gel, including Blueberry and Very Cherry. The fragrance lasts for up to 30 days.

Mr Paterson says the Jelly Belly gel can is also suited for use in the home or office because it can sit on any flat surface.

Jelly Belly is an amazing phenomenon, starting off as a popular range of jelly bean-shaped candy in the United States before its manufacturer had an “off-the-wall” idea of taking the intense, fruity flavours and infusing them into bean-shaped air fresheners.

Extracting the ingredients used in the jelly beans, they have managed to transfer the intensity of the tastes into scents to make a variety of different smelling air fresheners.

In addition to freshening the inside of a car, Jelly Belly scents are ideal for combating stale odours inside boat cabins that are often locked up for long periods, workshops and even around the home or office.

Originally created in the 1970s, Jelly Belly jelly beans famously won the approval of US president Ronald Reagan, who kept them in the Oval Office, on Air Force One and even made sure they were on the table at meetings with world leaders. Jelly Belly jelly beans have even made it into space, on the NASA space shuttle in 1983, when astronauts were seen trying to grab weightless spinning beans in their mouths.

The Jelly Belly gel can air freshener range is available from The Warehouse stores throughout New Zealand.
