Dip It Black

A new and easy way to add a touch of style and sophistication to a car has been introduced to New Zealand.

It’s called Plasti Dip Gloss Black Spray, which provides a one-step method to paint items in a shiny black finish without the need for a separate gloss topcoat.

Plasti Dip is a novel and ingenious way to cover just about any surface with a removable rubber paint.

Originally developed to apply rubber coatings to replace worn grips on hand tools, such as pliers, wrenches and cutters it has become the go-to paint finish for car owners wishing to add a touch of customisation to their vehicle by painting the wheels, badges or even complete grilles etc.

Plasti Dip comes in a range of colours, but the new Gloss Black Spray is expected to have increased appeal because it goes with anything.

“Plasti Dip is such a useful product and the introduction of the new Gloss Black Spray adds a new and very classy dimension for people wanting to customise their vehicle,” says Tim Paterson, National Sales Manager for Griffiths Equipment, which distributes automotive accessories and products throughout New Zealand.

The one-step process means that projects can be completed faster and with little fuss, drying within minutes. The glossy finish is stunning.

Plasti Dip is peel-able and easy to remove from most surfaces, which is very useful if there is any over-spray or you want to make a change. Plasti Dip is used widely for automotive detailing, coating wheels and painting graphics that can be peeled off without affecting the vehicle’s OEM finish.

Plasti Dip can stick to most hard surfaces, including metal, wood, glass, masonry and other plastics, making it extremely versatile. The Americans refer to it as ‘like duct tape in a can’ because of the hundreds of uses.

When dry, it remains flexible and stretchy and will not become brittle or crack, even in extreme weather. Plasti Dip has anti-skid, anti-slip and abrasion-resistant properties and it also resists moisture, acids and alkalines, so it is ideal for use on wheels. The rubberised coating even protects against electrical shock.

The new Plasti Dip Gloss Black Spray is available along with the rest of the range from leading hardware outlets and automotive accessory retailers throughout New Zealand.
